Forest Genetics in North America
The North American Forest Genetics Society (NAFGS) is committed to advancing forest genetics science in North America. Its primary focus areas include tree breeding, conservation genetics, and genomics related to forest health and productivity.
The society's goals include fostering research and education in forest genetics across North America, providing a platform for information exchange in this field, and facilitating collaboration among researchers, educators, and forest managers.
The upcoming 2024 conference marks the 2nd biennial meeting of NAFGS. The inaugural event took place in Asilomar, California, in 2022, and the next conference is set to be hosted in Canada (2026).
